M. J. Miller & Co. was founded in 1956 by Maynard J Miller. He and his wife Ruth worked in their home offering accounting services and tax preparation for individuals in Stark County . In 1963, Maynard helped his clients take advantage of the first KEOGH retirement plan introduced by the government. During December 1980, Maynard moved his offices into a farmhouse located on St. Rt. 619 where the current Hartville Kitchen restaurant is now located. His son Derwood joined the firm in 1983 after graduating from Eastern Mennonite College . In 1990 as the firm grew and needed more space to operate, the current office building located at 700 S. Prospect Avenue in Hartville was built. Another son, Brian, joined the firm in May 1990. In 1992, M.J. Miller & Co. started offering financial services. In the fall of 2000, the firm had again outgrown their office space and a new 3000 sq. ft. addition was added to the existing building.

In 2006 Wendy Mann and Ryan Tatum were taken in as partners of the firm. The name was changed to M.J. Miller & Co., CPA’s, LLC. But no matter how much we grow, our clients can rest assured we will always continue to provide the personal service they have come to expect from M.J. Miller & Co., CPA’s, LLC.
